The Real Me

I like naked people. People who have nothing to hide. People who are brave enough to be themselves, to own their flaws and traumas. People who are courageous enough to forgive and trust again. We hide ourselves for mainly two reasons. To protect ourselves. From hurt, criticism, and betrayal. To get validation from others. Of our greatness and our importance. I want to meet people who have evolved beyond these two reasons. I got a new journal for the new year which says on its cover - "Be the energy you want to attract". So, today, I am going to try to be naked.

Let's go!

I am not going to define myself from the cliched mold of caste, religion, race, gender, profession, financial class, education and physical appearance. The real me. The person underneath all these garments.

The essence of a person's true self lies within their deep tendencies and beliefs. I will try to discover them about myself.

1. The pettiest thing about me is bragging.

2. The most controversial opinion I have is I understand Trump's point of view on immigration.

3. The thing I get most embarrassed by is when I get caught of faking my awesomeness.

4. The greatest riches I consider in my life are my daughter, my family, my friends, and the people around me.

5. The most brutal thing I do to myself is to relive all the travesties that happen to people in this world in my mind again and again.

6. The greatest fear I have is to think that all these travesties are going to happen to me and my daughter.

7. The greatest weakness I have is my pathological need to not ask for help.

8. The greatest addiction I have is to journal.

9. The only thing about me that I cannot control is my sleep.

10. The greatest flaw I have is I seek validation from others of my abilities, my character and my integrity.

11. The greatest trauma I carry within myself is betrayal and exploitation from the people I love.

12. The greatest regret I have is losing my innocence and optimism and become a cynical person.

13. The one thing I should learn is to be a better listener.

14.  My greatest strength lies in my determination.

15. The thing I most desperately try to preserve is my youth.

16. The only pleasure I seek now is new experiences.
